Rekowski (Kamenka-1)

Johann Rekowski, a cobbler (Schuhmacher), and his wife Maria Magdalena settled in the Volga German colony of Kamenka on 6 July 1765. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 96.

Johann Rekowski (age 29), his wife Magdalena (age 27), and children (Nikolaus, age 8; Elisabeth, age 4; Anna Maria, age 2) are recorded on the 1775 census of Kamenka in Household No. 75.

Nikolaus Rekowski (age 31), his wife Christina née Hohl (age 32), son Martin (age 2), and sisters (Susanna, age 23; Magdalena, age 14) are recorded on the 1798 census of Kamenka in Household No. Km068.

Elisabeth Wiesner née Rekowski (age 26) from Kamenka and her family are recorded on the 1798 census of Volmer in Household No. Vm14.

Anna Maria Mauer née Rekkowski (age 25) and her family are recorded on the 1798 census of Kamenka in Household No. Km042.

Martin Rekowski and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Kamenka in Household No. 145.

Martin Rekowski and his family are recorded on the 1850 census of Kamenka in Household No. 164.

Martin Rekowski and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Kamenka in Household No. 197.

The death of Jakob Rekowski (age 23 in 1816) is recorded in 1825 on the 1834 census of Kamenka in Household No. 146. [He is presumed to be a brother to Martin Rekowski, but was omitted from the 1798 census.] Jakob's children on the 1834 census are: Joseph, age 17; Peter, age 16; Franz, age 13; Barbara, age 9½.

Joseph Rekowski and his brother Peter are recorded on the 1850 census of Kamenka in Household No. 218 along with a note that they relocated to the colony of Semenovka.

Joseph Rekowski and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Semenovka in Household No. 204.

The 1767 census records that Johann Rekowski came from the Danish town of Copenhagen.
