The parish register of Mutfort records that Peter Bartel married on 4 October 1745 to Maria Conter. [This is possibly the Peter Bartel who arrived in Lübeck.]
Peter Bartel, a farmer, and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 August 1766 aboard a galliot named Diana under the command of Skipper Markus Draguhn.
Peter Barbel [sic] and his wife Anna are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Peter Bartel (age 22), a farmer, his [new] wife Elisabeth (age 26), and her son Nikolaus [Trausch] (age 8) are recorded on the 1767 census of Brabander in Household No. 53. [See Trausch Family.] They had arrived in Brabander on 19 August 1767.
Also living with them is Margaretha Rettel [Redel] (age 14) whose parents died before leaving Germany. The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Bartel and the Redel families. [See Redel Family.]
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Peter Bartel came from Luxembourg. The 1767 census records that Peter Bartel came from the village of Mutfor [sic] in Luxembourg.
